WHAT HAPPENS IF ABU NAWAS BECOMES A KING
We should know ourselves when criticizing the kingdom (Government) because there are more people who are smarter than us. Kingdom (Government) has no problem with intelligence. They have (only) problems with honesty. If they are dishonest, what can we do? We can only curse ourselves. But when they get over the limit, get people together right away! We form a new (government) kingdom. But if they are not too. Get up in the morning, smile then continue the day, pretending to be happy. The cost of this option is cheaper, much cheaper.
Imagine if an Abu Nawas exchanged a position with Harun Al-Rashid, the Abbasid Caliph. what’s happening? In history, Abu Nawas is a reliable critic but can he be in control as Caliph Harun Al-Rashid? Which in history is also famous as a respected leader. This means sitting one person in proportion, it means place someone on the part that he mastered.
“King born or made?” That was the question that sounded before the beginning of the 20th century. This means that perhaps a person with a leadership potential is born outside the royal palace, or a “can” leader is formed with the royal court’s education.
Two World Wars made European societies no longer trust the king’s decision, they were willingly converted to constitutional state, meaning the figure of the king only as a symbol of unifying is holding the government is the Prime Minister, a concept which is then imitated by various countries, for example, modern Japan. But it is unique after the power of the King and Queen is “reduced” but the Monarchy system continues to last until now.
“Raja adil disembah, raja lalim disanggah” means “The righteous king is worshiped, the unjust king is refuted” The concept in almost all kingdoms in Indonesia before touching the Imperialist-Colonialists. This means that the Sultan of the archipelago was required to prosper the people, although there are times when the situation is still turbulent, this can be proved by the survival of customs system throughout Indonesia. Feudalism as a system gives birth to despotism, sometimes even spur the social revolution.
The current kingdom or sultanate system no longer prevails, it is proved that no kingdom has been established since the beginning of the 20th century. With the exception of a long-standing empire, virtually no new kingdom is formed.
The system of Republican government based on Democracy is considered the ideal form of government throughout the world today, the slogan “Vox Populi, Vox Dei” seems to be heard everywhere. “The voice of the people, the voice of God” is the meaning of the question, but what is the question of the people’s voice that reflects the voice of the god? What if the people in question were all thieves?
In a democracy, an Abu Nawas might be able to defeat a Harun Al-Rashid in an election. Once again the question is, should the person has chosen bear the responsibility given to him? Everything comes back to us to think rationally.
Congratulations for democracy, the longevity of the republic.
